One Step at a Time Program: Parent Support for Childhood Anxiety
Clinicians at Swinburne University have developed a program to help parents manage childhood anxiety in children aged 6– 11 years. To find out more:

Classroom Cuisine – Updated Menu!
New menu items for this term include:
- Chicken quesadilla served with sour cream
- Tandoori chicken puff parcel with mango chutney
- Carrot cupcake (gluten free, dairy free & vegan)
- Harvest Snaps
The poke bowl has been a huge hit and will continue this term along with other "new in term 2 items" – soft shell chicken tacos with salsa; cheese & salad; sausage rolls with tomato sauce; lamingtons; corn chips with mild salsa; and "not cross" buns. Also returning is a fan favourite – the Margherita pizza twist!
Seeking Stationery Donations
Project Stationery is having a pop-up in September at the Alphington Community Centre. See the poster for items that can be donated.
- Please note that "drawing paper" means any blank paper that can be used by kindergarten children (if it has something printed on the back, please make sure it's appropriate for children).

Saver Plus Program – Financial Program
The Saver Plus program is a free program that can help ease the financial pressure many families face. It is a financial education program funded by the Federal Government and Department of Social Services, that helps parents and carers on lower incomes to build financial skills while saving for school-related costs.
Families who join receive up to $500 in matched savings, AND gain practical money skills through free financial education workshops, helping them feel more in control of their finances.
Teeny Tiny Stevies – Coming to Northcote!
The Teeny Tiny Stevies, ‘every parent’s favourite kids band’, will be holding a concert at the Northcote Theatre to celebrate the release of their new album.

Free Tickets to Circus Quirkus
Students, teachers, and their families are invited to attend the 2025 Circus Quirkus shows. Circus Quirkus is a free event hosted by the Rotary Club of Preston, with the aim to provide an accessible live theatre experience to people of all abilities and backgrounds.

Northcote Jets Basketball Club – Girl’s Training Program
The Northcote Jets Basketball Club is excited to offer a FREE basketball training program for girls this August. The Spitfires Basketball Program is for girls ages between 8-12 (born between 2012 - 2018) and is run over three training sessions with experienced coaches. The program is a fun and relaxed way for girls to get a feel for the game of basketball, brush up on skills or receive additional training.
