Class 1 News

HARRY BROWN

Class One recently finished the epic Gilgamesh story which culminated in a visit to the cemetery at the Telegraph station where we contemplated Gilgamesh’s quest for immortality following the loss of his dear friend Enkidu. Onwards up the mighty mountain, as we learn a new poem, the Stonecutter, then off to the Araluen Arts Centre where we met with the curator of the Archibald exhibition, Steven, who welcomed us as we celebrated all the wonderful works of art, most importantly our proudest moment, for Mala, who was a finalist in the young Archies.

Ollie has completed the stitching of his costume which for many others is proving to be a challenge. Thank you to the parents who are coming in on Wednesday afternoon to help the children focus on their task at hand. Children have begun smashing and stripping bamboo to make our lanterns for the Winter festival. We look forward to sharing, with you, our growing social skills and good craft work at both the Autumn Festival and Winter Festival performances.
