NAIDOC WEEK

NAIDOC WEEK ACTIVITIES
WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY
On Monday 13th, we came together as a school community to celebrate the beginning of Term 3 while also recognising NAIDOC Week alongside our neighbouring schools.
We were honoured to have Aunty Sonia Weston open our assembly with a heartfelt Welcome to Country, before concluding the morning with a meaningful Smoking Ceremony.
A special moment of the assembly saw Ms Coleman present new staff members Mr Morrow and our new Principal, Mr Skoutas, with their Korumburra Secondary College "Wings" - a symbol of welcome and belonging within our school community.
Mr Skoutas also introduced himself to students, staff and families, sharing his excitement about becoming part of both the Korumburra and KSC communities.
Our talented KSC Vocal Group rounded out the celebration with an outstanding performance that showcased the incredible talent within our school.
Thank you to everyone who helped make today's assembly such a memorable occasion.
Here's to a fantastic Term 3!
NAIDOC COLLABORATION DAY AT KPS
On July 16th, the Yarning Circle headed over to Korumburra Primary School for a whole day of sharing art, stories and bush foods to celebrate NAIDOC Week.
Students spent time yarning at the Learning Stone, planted new bush food plants and designed then decorated clapsticks with paint and the use of wood burners.
The day was such a success and the Grade 6 students have their Yarning Circle buddies ready for when they have their Transition Days in Term 4.
Special thanks to John Fox from KPS for hosting us and Dayna Lightowler from Loch PS for providing the scrumptious Indigenous foods!
