Prepare Victorian rental compliance records before 13 October

Priority: High – Victorian principals and PM teams

Victoria’s renting taskforce is now a permanent feature of the property management landscape, so expect to be asked for more evidence of compliance sooner.

Property management teams should review their compliance records before new rental requirements begin on 13 October.

Consumer Affairs Victoria says rental providers will need to keep records sufficient to show a property met the rental minimum standards when it was advertised or offered for rent. The requirement for properties to meet minimum standards when advertised is already in place.

Check your pre-advertising process and where supporting evidence is retained. Agree with rental providers how outstanding work will be resolved and documented before marketing proceeds.

Use the regulator’s current information when updating procedures. Find more here…

Your people cannot register for training, make a referral or use a network initiative if they never hear about it.

Our private Facebook group breaks Network News into short, practical updates that agents can read while they are on the go. It puts training and referral opportunities in front of them, alongside important announcements, business resources and news from across First National.

An informed team can use more of what network membership provides and speak confidently about what First National is doing and saying.

Ask every member of your team to scan the QR code and join the group today.
