SSV Eureka Senior Soccer

On Wednesday 28th April, BHS took two teams (Senior Boys & Senior Girls) to the SSV Eureka Senior Soccer competition at the Wendouree West Reserve. With several players out of action, a string of reserve players stood up to the task as replacements on the day. The good run of weather continued for the SSV Eureka competitions with only some slight drizzle throughout the day.

The Senior Boys had 4 matches against Mount Clear College (0 goals to 1 goal), Mount Rowan Secondary College (3 goals to 2 goals), Phoenix Secondary College (2 goals to 0 goals) & Woodmans Hill Secondary College (2 goals to 0 goals). 3 wins and 1 loss gained the team a spot in the Grand Final against Mount Clear College and redemption from the round 1 loss. At full time, the game was 1 all and it took two periods of overtime to find a result. Unfortunately, the goal was in the back of our net and the team went down 1 goal to 2 goals and finishing runner up for the competition.

For the second year in a row, the Senior Girls Soccer team didn’t have an opponent at the Eureka Division level and were declared the Eureka Division Champions. The Senior Girls team have now qualified for the SSV Greater Western Region Senior Girls Competition on Friday 20th June at the Wendouree West Reserve
