Lunchtime performances

On Friday, 30th May, the Performing Arts department proudly launched a new fortnightly initiative: Friday Lunchtime Performances in the school courtyard. This exciting program gives our student musicians a platform to share their talents, celebrate their progress, and gain valuable performance experience in front of their peers.
Beyond the performances themselves, this initiative also offers students hands-on learning in stage setup and pack-down, while showcasing the diverse range of performing arts skills thriving at Ballarat High School.
The debut performance featured one of our talented Year 9 VET Music Certificate II bands. Under clear sunny skies, a fantastic crowd of students and staff gathered to enjoy the show. These Year 9s delivered an impressive set of both original songs and covers, already displaying stage presence and professionalism beyond their years. A huge thank you to these students for kicking off the series with such energy and courage.
Thanks to their inspiring performance, several other students and ensembles have already signed up to take the stage in the coming weeks. Next up: a Year 11 and 12 duo will be performing original music next Friday. We look forward to seeing the courtyard come alive again with more incredible talent!
