Eclipse House News

Welcome back to what’s shaping up to be a busy, fun, and enjoyable Term Three!

We kicked off the term with some fantastic birthday celebrations, Billy Hams, Eden Bairstow, and Patrick Buckenara all celebrated their birthdays in the first week back. It’s always a lovely way to bring the house together and mark these milestones as a community.

It didn’t take long for the house to settle back into its usual routines. The boys have been doing a great job with their prep, which sets a solid foundation and gives them a valuable opportunity to complete their work and stay on top of their commitments.

The general atmosphere around the house has been very positive. I’ve started discussing leadership opportunities with the Year Elevens, and while the responses have been mixed, as it’s not for everyone, it’s encouraging to have these conversations. The process offers a meaningful insight into added responsibility and provides a platform to make an impact among peers, much like they’ll experience in the workforce in the coming years.

It was brilliant to see the Eclipse boys enjoying themselves at the recent quiz night, as captured in the photos below. Looking ahead, we’re excited for the upcoming combined Year Eleven and Twelve final Rec event, which will celebrate this year’s group of Year Twelve boarders and welcome the Year Elevens who will be stepping into leadership roles in Term Four and into 2026.

We’re also planning some enjoyable events for our Year Nine and Ten boarders next term, more details to come soon!

A warm welcome to Mr Bruce Fitzpatrick, who will be a more regular presence in weekend boarding at Eclipse House as a casual supervisor. Bruce has already been doing a great job keeping an eye on things and supporting the boys. He’s also a keen surfer, so we’re hoping to explore some potential Rec opportunities around this once the weather improves.

Welcome aboard, Bruce!
