World of Work Guest Speaker

Dan Falzon, one of the owners and operators of Earth Sanctuary, shared his career experiences and advice to our Year 10 students this week. Dan has a wealth of experience in many sectors including three years on Neighbours as Rick Alessi, time spent in the hospitality industry, marine biology, paramedicine, sustainability, astronomy, events coordination, tourism and much more.

Dan shared his time as an actor and what he learnt in his teens from being in the media and music industry.

Dan shared his most recent role as a paramedic in Alice Springs with his two brothers, addressing the challenges this field presents as well as the benefits of combining this work with their company Earth Sanctuary.

He offered students the chance to ask questions and focused on the ‘Happiness Index’ – if you are not happy with what you are doing try something else.

Hopefully the students got a lot out of this and have a more informed understanding of the diversity of career paths we can have.
