Term 4

Who can believe that we are already in our final term for 2025?! There have already been so many memorable occasions throughout the year, and this term will continue with more camps, performances, sporting events and graduations – make sure you check Compass and Facebook for all the exciting things that will be happening!

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

Throughout Term 3, following the Curriculum Day, our staff continued the work to review and revitalise our SWPBS systems and practices.  We have gained input from staff, parents and students to revise Concord School’s Vision and Values and Mission Statements, clearly define behaviour expectations for various contexts to create a matrix and review our behavioural data collection system on Compass.  All of this supports staff and students to use a common language to discuss behaviour, understand behavioural expectations that apply at all times and in different contexts, and to establish procedures for teaching and practising expected behaviours.

This term we are beginning to implement the Behaviour Expectations Matrix, following consultation with our SRC representatives. Please see the minutes from the meeting and the Behaviour Matrix below.

Community Announcements

Basketball Superstars!

We’re excited to share that some of our current and past students participating in the Eltham Wildcats Unified Basketball squad have been selected to represent Australia at the inaugural Special Olympics Unified 3x3 Basketball World Cup in Puerto Rico this December.

Special Olympics Australia has announced two teams to wear the green and gold on the world stage, and we are proud that our athletes and Unified partners will be part of this historic event.

Every donation, big or small, helps bring Australia’s Unified 3x3 teams closer to the court and the opportunity to showcase their talent on a global stage.

Rocking Out!

Many Concord Staff were very proud to attend a gig of our past student, Stavros, at Bridges Nursery in Hurstbridge.  Stavros, as part of the duo The Walking Shadows supported by our very own, Harry, had an hour-long set at a recent market. Classics by The Animals, The Cranberries, The Verve, Nancy Sinatra and Smashmouth were part of the playlist that pumped up the crowd!
