Principal's Report

Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4! As we start to see more sunshine and warmer days, students have started the terms getting straight into the excitement of the final term of the year.

As we gear up for what is always a busy term, we have already seen lots of fun and exciting activities for our students including the Secondary 9/10 camp, Year 7/8 swimming, Lower Primary Bushwahzee and Interschool Sports. With many more events and activities to come this term, we look forward to connecting and engaging with you all.

Home-School Communication Plan

We are pleased to share our updated Home–School Communication Plan which has been reviewed and endorsed by School Council. This revised plan reflects the evolving ways families and schools connect and outlines how we can best communicate to support student learning and wellbeing.

We greatly value our strong partnerships with families and appreciate the ongoing engagement we receive from our community. Please remember that Compass remains our main platform for communication. If you need support accessing or using Compass, our school office team is always happy to assist.

Lower Primary Bushwahzee

It was wonderful to see so many Lower Primary families attend our Bushwahzee evening this week. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for students and their families to come together and enjoy an evening of music, dance, and community. Led by the engaging Bushwahzee team, the night was filled with energy and laughter. Thank you to our staff and families for their support in making this such a successful and enjoyable event.

Watsonia Campus – Playground Refurbishment

Our Watsonia Campus students are loving their play spaces even more now! Following the addition of our brand-new playground earlier this year, our existing playground has also had a complete refresh. The upgrade includes new slides, equipment, and a bright new play area for students to enjoy.

Curriculum Day – Student Free Day

A reminder that Monday the 3rd of November is a whole school curriculum day and there is no school for all students on this day. The Term 4 curriculum day is dedicated for staff to undertake duties relating to assessment and reporting.

Grimshaw Street Roadworks Update

The Grimshaw Street roadworks are continuing into this term, with the next stage set to move to the opposite side of the road. This will involve a full closure between Watsonia Road and Greensborough Highway. The good news is both intersections will stay open, and detours will be clearly marked.

So far, we have experienced minimal disruption to school buses and will continue to monitor as it continues to progress.

For the latest updates on road closures and detours, please   visit bigbuild.vic.gov.au/disruptions. If you have specific questions or would like to receive direct updates, you can also contact the M80 Big Build Team on 1800 105 105 or via email at contact@bigbuild.vic.gov.au.

Woody is a deserving recipient of the Principal's Award for his remarkable growth and positive contributions to our school community.

He has demonstrated significant progress in managing the use of technology and his emotional regulation skills, showing impressive flexibility when situations don't unfold as planned.

Woody has embraced diverse challenges with enthusiasm, including performing in the Victorian State School Spectacular, participating in basketball team try outs, and successfully completing his first three-day school camp where he thrived alongside his peers.

Woody's kindness, flexibility, positive engagement and willingness to step outside his comfort zone make him a deserving recipient of this award.
