SEMINAR DAYS

During Seminar Days, entire cohorts spend time together outside of a traditional classroom setting. Guest facilitators and staff members tailor the content of each session to specifically suit a given year level.

Through interactive presentations, students learn about concepts associated with positive wellbeing, such as resilience, trust, respect, self-confidence, and self-esteem. They then work together on activities to put that knowledge into practice in fun and creative ways. As they collaborate and present their projects, the groups build rapport and develop friendships with more of their peers.

Year 12 Seminar Day

The Class of 2026 enjoyed a meditation session which paved the way for a transformative workshop focused on empowerment, led by motivational speaker Carlo Cirillo on Monday 2 February.

The ultimate highlight of the day was the ice baths. Three cheers for everyone who took the plunge! – Thankfully, the day was warm and sunny so students and staff could thaw out quickly after they emerged from the ice.

In May, the Class of 2026 will enjoy a second Seminar Day that will explore the Catholic vision of social justice and its inherent challenges.

Year 11 Seminar Days

YEAR 11

Year 11 students spent two days with Chris Doyle from Karis Ministries Sydney, who has conducted Seminar Days at the college for thirty years. Over two days, Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 February, Chris facilitated a discussion on how a personal faith practice and positive relationships will support students over the next two years of senior school.

Some of the activities would have reminded students of group challenges from their time on the Year 8 Grampians Camp. Each group needed to collaborate and rely on one another, often with humorous results.

YEAR 9

Chris Doyle also led a Seminar Day for students in Year 9. Equipped with his trusty guitar, talent for song, and love of God, Chris and the cohort spent Tuesday 3 February building community and performing on the mic.
