In French class, through reading stories, poems, songs and cooking, the students have made some connections with French culture and celebrations including, La Chandeleur, Mardi Gras et Le Carnaval Français. The cooking was a highlight for many and so we thought we should share this crepe recipe with you to enjoy too!
The Master Crepe Recipe
3/4 cup milk
2 eggs
1 cup plain flour
3 tbsp melted butter ( and extra butter to coat pan )
Pinch of salt
(1 tbsp sugar is optional)
Beat all ingredients with an electric mixer for about 2 minutes and refrigerate for about an hour. Coat your hot pan/skillet with butter and pour a ladle or two of the mixture into the pan. Cook over low heat. Flip over after 30 seconds or lightly coloured on both sides. Add your favourite topping et voilà!
