Careers and Pathways

2026 has kicked off to a busy and exciting start! Our year 9 students have already commenced their Morrisby Profiling (My Career Insights) session and will soon commence follow-up one on one interviews. My Career Insights program aims to uncover student strengths and aptitudes to provide them with potential career options suited to them. Our year 12 students have completed their 2-Day VCE Success Orientation at Melbourne Polytechnic and La Trobe University where they took part in presentations, workshops, practical sessions, and uni life, all designed to support them in their final year and beyond.

Class of 2025 – Where are they now?

Of our students that submitted tertiary applications through VTAC:

  • 95% of Students received at least one offer.

National Careers Week - Monday 11 to Friday 15 May

National Careers Week is an initiative of the Career Industry Council of Australia. It aims to celebrate careers, career development, career development services, and career development practitioners and promote career development’s economic, social and personal benefits. Career development is a process of managing learning, work and leisure to progress through life. It includes gaining and using the skills and knowledge needed to plan and make informed decisions about education, training, and work. Everyday decisions and priorities affect career development.

We will be announcing exciting school wide activities to celebrate national careers week closer to the date.

Trade & Tech Fit Career Expo - Tuesday 2 June

Trade & Tech Fit is Victoria’s largest hands-on expo exclusive to female and gender diverse students in years 7-12 from all sectors across Victoria. It’s a place where your students can discover employment opportunities in high priority trades and STEM industries typically pitched to males. They can experience tasters in skills such as building, construction, clean energy, engineering, automotive, transport & logistics, gaming, cloud and robotics industries and more. At the 2025 event, students helped build a room on stage which again will be returning in 2026. For 2026 we plan to have a bigger and better event with a broader selection of industries.

Year 10 Work Experience Week - Monday 22 to Friday 26 June

We are extremely excited for our Year 10 students to go out on work experience in the last week of term 2. Work experience is the short-term placement of secondary school students out in the workplace with employers. It will help students make informed decisions about their future and develop valuable employability skills, networks and connections within their chosen industry. Students have commenced preparation for work experience in their Careers and Pathways classes. Lessons are designed to help students understand how to find a placement and prepare to enter the workplace. Once students have secured a placement, they will fill out a google form (shared on the Year 10 Noticeboard google classroom) to then generate a Work Experience Agreement digital form for the student, parent/guardian, employer and school.
