Article by Kate Runciman, Career Development Leader
For many Year 12 students, the months leading up to graduation can feel overwhelming. Between assessments, exams, tertiary applications and questions about the future, it’s not uncommon for students to feel pressure to have everything figured out.
Successful transitions beyond school is about much more than just course preferences and ATARs. They involve building confidence, exploring opportunities and helping students understand that career development is a journey, not a single decision.
To support these conversations, VTAC has partnered with Alana Kilmartin, founder of Unserious Careers, to deliver the Playbook for Success Beyond Year 12 webinar series this July.
Having presented to more than 300 high schools across Australia and New Zealand over the past 18 months, Alana brings a fresh, practical and relatable perspective to career planning. Through a combination of storytelling, humour and real-world insights, she helps students, parents and educators approach post-school pathways with greater confidence and less stress.
