Victory Cup

Our Year 7/8 Boys and Girls Soccer teams recently represented the College at the annual Victory Cup, a fantastic event that brings together all affiliate schools in the Melbourne Victory Program.

Both teams performed exceptionally well throughout the day, progressing to the semi-finals where they were narrowly defeated after displaying outstanding determination and skill.

The Girls team produced one of the most memorable moments of the tournament in their quarter final, advancing through a thrilling penalty shootout. Goalkeeper Zoe G played a pivotal role with a series of outstanding saves, while the penalty takers calmly converted their shots.

The Boys team also impressed with their quality of play, competing strongly throughout the tournament only losing a single game in the qualifying rounds. Unfortunately, they came up against a strong Rowville team, bowing out in a hard fought semi-final.

Although neither team progressed to the final, both squads performed to a very high level throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all players on their efforts and we look forward to seeing these students back on pitch in Term 3 for the Melbourne Victory Performance Program.

House Cross Country

Our annual House Cross Country Carnival was held at Brimbank Park, with students embracing the challenge of the course while proudly representing their Houses. The day was a fantastic display of participation, with students giving their best effort and encouraging one another throughout each race.

The scenic course at Brimbank Park provided an enjoyable yet demanding test for all competitors. It was pleasing to see students demonstrating determination and resilience as they completed their races, considering the cold conditions. The support from fellow students and staff created a wonderful atmosphere and highlighted the strong sense of community within our House program.

Congratulations to all students who competed and contributed valuable points to their House. We also acknowledge those students who produced outstanding performances on the day and look forward to them becoming leaders in our ACS Cross Country squad.
