Year 8 Showcase

Last Wednesday the Semester 1 Year 8 Dance and Drama classes combined to present a performance entitled “Showcase”. They had the opportunity to demonstrate their learning achievements to families and friends.

The Dance class performed an original dance choreographed by Mrs Cailin McCarthy. Students “showcased” their skill as an ensemble. There were also highlights from individuals.

The Year 8 Drama classes presented a series of acts in the genre of Greek Theatre. They featured the masks that students had made to express the character of their role. Mr Myles Collins facilitated student research and acting.

One of the audience members commented;

We really enjoyed the performance and appreciated being able to come along and see what our son has been doing in drama this semester. I can only imagine how many practices must have taken to get all the students to say their part in the right order, speed and with the right energy - you're to be commended on your perseverance and patience! It was great and it was obvious that they enjoyed it too.

Congratulations to the performers and to their teachers.
