Grade 3 News

Buddies
During our buddy session, Grade 3A and 5C put their teamwork skills to the test with an exciting shelter-building challenge! Armed with just seven paddle pop sticks, some masking tape, a piece of paper, and plenty of creativity, each buddy pair set out to design and build the ultimate tent. The room was filled with laughter, problem-solving, and a few moments of frustration as students worked through challenges together. The best part was seeing the pride and excitement on their faces when their creations finally stood tall.
It was a wonderful opportunity to practise collaboration, resilience, and creative thinking while having lots of fun along the way!
My Place
This term, students have been reading My Place and exploring how stories can share information about people, places, and events from the past. As part of this learning, they have been looking at the structure of information recounts and identifying the key features that make them effective.
Students then put their learning into practice by writing their own recounts, choosing a special year or memorable event from their lives to write about. It has been wonderful to see them share their experiences, memories, and achievements while developing their confidence as writers. The students have thoroughly enjoyed reflecting on important moments in their lives and bringing these stories to life through their writing.
