Dear Families,

As winter approaches, many of us are preparing to either hibernate through the colder months or perhaps escape to warmer destinations during the upcoming holiday break. While students and families enjoy a well-earned rest, Berwick Chase Primary School will be buzzing with activity as several exciting improvement projects take place across our grounds.

One of the most anticipated upgrades is the refurbishment of our external basketball courts. Over the holiday period, the courts will be relevelled and resurfaced, providing a much-needed improvement to one of our most popular play spaces. Whether students are shooting hoops at recess, participating in PE lessons, or enjoying lunchtime games with friends, the upgraded surface will provide a safer and more enjoyable experience for years to come.

To help protect this significant investment, new fencing will also be installed around the courts. This additional security measure will reduce the likelihood of vandalism and damage during weekends and holiday periods, ensuring the courts remain in excellent condition for our students to enjoy.

Inside the school, several learning spaces will also receive a fresh new look. Our Grade Two classrooms, along with a number of portable classrooms, are scheduled to be repainted. Freshly painted learning environments help create bright, welcoming spaces where students can learn, grow and take pride in their surroundings.

Visitors to the school may have already noticed the beautiful work recently completed around the flagpole garden beds. We are pleased to share that our landscape gardener will be returning to continue enhancing the front entrance of the school. These improvements not only make our school look fantastic but also create a welcoming environment that reflects the pride we have in our community.

Looking ahead to Term Three, we have even more exciting news. Berwick Chase Primary School has been fortunate to receive a donation of 50 trees from the City of Casey. These trees will be planted throughout the school grounds and will contribute to the shade, greenery and natural beauty of our environment for many years to come. While we may not immediately appreciate their full impact, it is exciting to imagine future generations of students enjoying the shade and habitat these trees will provide.

I would like to thank our School Council, the City of Casey and all those involved in making these improvements possible. We look forward to welcoming students back next term to a school that continues to grow, improve and provide the very best environment for learning and play.
