This term, Student Voice meetings will resume in Week 2.

As a Student Voice Team, our role is to listen, represent, and share these ideas. We can't act on every suggestion right away. We are working with staff and leadership to prioritise what is possible and what will have the biggest positive impact on our school.

We are proud of how thoughtful and engaged our students have been this year, and we are excited to continue working together to make our school an even better place for everyone.

Student Voice & Agency in the VTLM 2.0

The Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) 2.0 supports students in becoming confident, independent learners by building the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. As students develop their understanding, they are encouraged to take an active role in their learning by making choices, setting goals, reflecting on their progress and taking increasing responsibility for their learning.

Teachers provide clear instruction, connect new learning to what students already know, and offer guided practice and opportunities to apply learning in different ways. This helps students build deep understanding and the confidence to solve problems, think critically and apply their learning in new situations.

The VTLM 2.0 also develops students' self-regulation by teaching them to plan, monitor and evaluate their learning, recognise when they need support, and have meaningful conversations with their teachers about their progress. By strengthening these skills, students become resilient, self-directed learners with the confidence and agency to achieve their best.

Did You Know:  VTLM 2.0 Implementation

All Victorian government schools are expected to use the VTLM 2.0 to inform and refine their teaching and learning programs from 2025, working towards full implementation from the start of the 2028 school year.
