Performing Arts News

Wow, what a busy term we have had in Performing Arts. The preps have been identifying, moving and playing fast & slow, loud and soft, high and low. We moved to a song called ‘The Old Gray Cat’ and played instruments to match the fast sections and slow sections. Students have continued to practice their dance moves for the school production. We look forward to showing parents next term.

In grade 1 students have been playing notes on a glockenspiel to various songs such as Ipsy Wipsy Spider and Flowing To The Sea. Most grades are finalising ideas for dance moves for their scenes for The Lion King. We have played charades focusing on using our body actions, sounds and words to portray given characters for the class to guess.

Our grade 2 classes have been busy choreographing amazing dance moves for their scenes in The Lion King Production. They thoroughly enjoyed singing and playing the glockenspiel to Mr Ice-cream Man. Students played notes to create ice-cream flavours to We Like Ice-cream.

Congratulations to our backstage helpers and music crew, Milica, Emily, Muhammad and Indianna. We also welcome our dance crew: Olivia and Sienna. A reminder the school production is in term 3, week 7, Tuesday August the 25th of August. We can’t wait to show you all. We will have a special raffle to help fundraise for the production. More to come on this next term.

Have a great break 😊
