Student Voice and Leadership Update
Peer Support Program
On 7 December, 28 Year 9 students completed a full-day leadership training course in preparation for becoming peer mentors in 2024.
Our young leaders participated in a range of activities throughout the day to develop their skills in communication, empathy, working with others and leading others.
All of the young leaders were enthusiastic and showed strong development throughout the day.
They are looking forward to meeting their year 7 mentor groups as they enter year 10 in 2024!
Junior SRC Election
On Wednesday, 6 December, we had the absolute pleasure of announcing the 2024 Junior School Captains.
These Captains nominated themselves and were confirmed through the rigorous process of a student vote and panel interview. Thank you to the Junior Student cohort for taking this opportunity to make your voice heard at MSC by voting for your elected representatives. Additionally, thank you to 2023 Junior School Captain, Barsha Sharma, for being a part of the interview panel for the incoming Junior School Captains.
Congratulations to the 2024 Junior School Captains: Tiana Davies, Manyang Manyang, Ayak Magot, and Taylan Zielke.

Staff Induction Day
Also in Week 10, our wonderful Junior SRC members planned and participated in two sessions for the induction day held for incoming 2024 staff.
The Junior SRC members ran school tours for our new staff, and also participated in a Q&A panel, which focussed on how students at MSC like to learn, and what they believe our teaching staff should know about the college.
Feedback from the incoming staff was overwhelmingly positive, and indicated that this was a highlight of the day.
Thank you to Professional Culture Leaders Lauren Peck and Selin Kasif for your planning and facilitation of the day, and for prioritising student voice within our MSC staff culture.
Thank you to the Junior SRC members who represented our school: Barsha Sharma, Jayda Fagalilo, Mason Bondin, and Printhika Manisekaran.
