Kii friends,

Wow, what a quick and busy term it has been!

Students in 4/5A, 5/6A, and 5/6B have been highly engaged in our unit on space. Working in mixed-class groups, they have collaborated on projects inspired by their own questions and wonderings. It has been fantastic to see our Year 6 students take on leadership roles, guiding younger peers through the process of researching and creating their presentations. We are all looking forward to them sharing their findings with the group next week.

In literacy, students in 4/5A have been enjoying their class novel, Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods. It has been wonderful to hear that many students have been inspired to continue reading the Percy Jackson series at home.

Students in 5/6A and 5/6B have been engaged in their class novel, Keeper of the Lost Cities, and have been responding thoughtfully to the text.

During sport time, while our Year 6 students have been attending GALA sports, the Year 4 and 5 students have been enjoying a variety of games and practising their sporting skills. They particularly enjoyed revisiting some classic ball games such as Captain Ball, Over-and-Under, and Tunnel Ball — which brought plenty of fun and energy to our sessions!

With NAPLAN now complete for the year, students have transitioned into new numeracy learning. They have been exploring grid references and coordinates through an engaging unit on location, developing both their understanding and confidence in this area.

We wish you all a wonderful easter break with loved ones and look forward to seeing you in term 2. Travel safely and go easy on the chocolate.
