Music Matters

Open Day 

Our ensembles are busy preparing for Open Day performances at our Chatswood campus on 14 March. The following ensembles will be performing: 

Students are to let their ensemble directors know immediately of any problems please. 

Students are to wear College uniform, unless they are also playing sport, in which case, their College sport uniform is permissible. 

Some Elective Music students will also be practicing in classrooms.

Brass Quintet:

Congratulations to the many talented Brass players from Years 5 – 10 who auditioned for a position in our newly created Brass Quintet. Successful applicants have been emailed by Mr Saar, and rehearsals will commence next week (Week 7), and will be directed by our new Trumpet tutor, Mr Matthew Hyam. The group will rehearse weekly at Recess on Wednesdays in MR1.  

Upcoming dates Term 1: 

• Week 7 – Saturday, 14/3 – Open Day – most ensembles. See schedule above.

• Week 10 – Wednesday 1/4 – Year 12 Major Works Day #1

Drama Matters

Open Day: We have some fun and exciting initiatives for Open Day and would love some Drama students to help out. Please see Ms Lindley or fill out the volunteer form. 

Upcoming Dates:

• OPEN DAY: Saturday 14 March. Drama students are asked to make themselves available for this event. 

• The IIiad at Sydney Theatre Company: Wednesday 22 April. Elective Drama students from Year 9 - 11 will attend the matinee performance of this timeless classic.
