Year 9 & 10 Sub School Report

Students in Years 9 and 10 have made a positive start to the year and have settled well into their classes and routines. It has been pleasing to see students engaging with their learning, building positive relationships with teachers and peers, and demonstrating increasing independence in managing their workload.
A key highlight for our Year 10 students this semester is the upcoming Work Experience program. This provides an important opportunity for students to explore potential career pathways, develop workplace skills, and gain a better understanding of employer expectations. We encourage students to make the most of this experience by approaching it with enthusiasm, professionalism, and curiosity.
Students across both year levels have also been involved in a range of extra-curricular activities, allowing them to pursue their interests beyond the classroom. Participation in these opportunities helps build confidence, teamwork, and a sense of connection within the school community.
Year 10 students attended the Grand Prix excursion, which offered an exciting opportunity to see engineering concepts in action. Experiences such as this help connect classroom learning with real-world applications and inspire students to think about future pathways in science, technology, and engineering.
During this period, NAPLAN will also take place for our Year 9 students. NAPLAN provides a useful snapshot of student progress in literacy and numeracy. We encourage students to approach the tests with a calm and positive mindset, doing their best without unnecessary stress.
As the year progresses, developing effective study habits is an important focus for both Year 9 and Year 10 students. Establishing regular study routines, organising notes, reviewing learning regularly, and preparing gradually for assessments will support students in achieving their best. Parents and carers can assist by encouraging consistent study time at home and supporting students in maintaining balance between schoolwork, activities, and wellbeing.
We look forward to a productive and engaging year ahead and thank families for their continued support.
