Term 2 is well underway. We have students attending work experience at Enable ICT recycling, the Salvation Army and Helping Hands.
We have continued our focus on communication especially with modelling the use of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) to students. It is great to see students communicating with each and other and staff using their preferred communication methods.
SSGs have commenced and will continue until Thursday 28 May. Please reach out to your classroom teacher to book a time to meet and discuss your child's goals. Families with Graduating students please ensure Vicki or Sean attend your SSG to assist with Post School planning.
Room 20
Room 20 has had an awesome start to Term 2! We had a successful swimming week in Week 2. Our students enjoyed being in the water, learning how to blow bubbles, float and even jump off the deep end! Back at school, we’ve been doing great learning in phonics using Little Learners Love Literacy and exploring numbers. They continue to be curious and enthusiastic learners in other subjects such as Visual Arts, Personal & Social Capabilities, Health & Physical Education, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen & Garden and Science. We are excited to see what the rest of the term has in store for us!
ROOM 23
The VPC Projects are in full swing this term, with students actively engaging in a range of exciting and practical learning experiences. Students have been busy writing scripts for their short films, creating a video advertisement for the upcoming garage sale, and collecting and sorting donations in preparation for the event.
Alongside these projects, students have enjoyed participating in swimming, podcasting, and SBAT programs, while continuing to work towards their Literacy, Numeracy, PDS, and WRS learning goals. Students enjoyed cooking sausages for Jacanarama Sausage Sizzle in Term 1. It has been wonderful to see students developing their teamwork, communication, creativity, and independence through these valuable learning opportunities.
