SWIM PROGRAM

We are excited to share our fully subsidised summer swim programs and would love your help in getting our message out to your school community.

Over January and February 2024, PARC and PINES are running 3 pilot swim programs to test different Learn to Swim models. Each of these programs are targeted at different audiences - youth, families and infants. Through these programs we hope to learn more about the impact on swimming and water safety skills and knowledge and help us towards our goal of ‘Every Child in Frankston Can Swim’. Learn more here. Our 3 swim programs are completely free for participants, and also come with access to PARC and PINES for the 2 weeks around the program time. All we ask is that participants complete a survey before their program, then again at the end, so we can see how this method of learning impacts water safety and awareness.

Quiet Hour at Pines Forest Aquatic Centre

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting Quiet Hour Swims at our outdoor facility, Pines Forest Aquatic Centre. While PINES pool is a source of enjoyment and recreation for a lot of people, there are many individuals with sensory challenges or additional needs who may face challenges in public pool environments. Recognising this, we are very happy to be taking a step to breaking down this barrier so all members of our community can attend and participate in activity at PINES.  Our first Quiet Hour Swim will be held on Wednesday 20 December between 3pm – 4pm. The Centre will remain open to the public and everyone is welcome, but we ask if you are attending during that time slot that you, please be mindful of noise levels. We want to provide a calm and sensory friendly, low stimulant environment and appreciate everyone's support and cooperation in achieving this.
