Celebrating Corpus Christi and First Holy Communion

This upcoming Sunday, our parish community gathers to celebrate the beautiful Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, traditionally known as Corpus Christi.

This feast day holds a profoundly sacred place in the Catholic tradition. It is a time when we collectively reflect on, honour, and give thanks for the immense gift of Christ’s ongoing presence with us in the Eucharist. It reminds us of Jesus' ultimate sacrifice and His invitation to be nourished, sustained, and united as one body through Him.

In keeping with a cherished and long-standing tradition at St Patrick's, this special feast day is also our parish's chosen day for our eligible young candidates to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion for the very first time.

There is no more fitting occasion for our students to join the table of the Lord than on the day the entire Universal Church stops to adore the Blessed Sacrament. Seeing our young people take this step reminds us all of the pure joy and grace found in the Eucharist, revitalising the faith of our whole parish family.

We extend our warmest blessings to all of our communicants and their families as they experience this profound milestone. May the love of Christ fill their hearts this Sunday and always.

Prayer

Dear Lord,

We thank You for the beautiful gift of the Eucharist

, and for the joy of celebrating the Feast of Corpus Christi.

We pray especially today for our young candidates

as they approach Your table to receive Your Body and Blood for the first time.

Fill their hearts with Your peace,

keep them close to Your love,

and guide them as they grow in faith.

May Your presence always nourish and protect them,

and may our school and parish community

continue to support them with our prayers.

Amen.

First Holy Communion- This Sunday

This upcoming Sunday is a significant milestone for our parish and school community as we celebrate the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.

Angus, Campbell, and Thibaud will be receiving the Eucharist for the very first time at our parish celebration of Mass this Sunday, 7th June, at St Patrick's Church. Following this, Freddie and Jack will be receiving their First Holy Communion during our special school Mass on Friday, 12th June.

Over the last few weeks, Angus, Campbell, Freddie, Jack, and Thibaud have been preparing to partake in this sacred ritual. As these five young individuals deepen their connection to our faith and explore the teachings and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, they have the full support, thoughts, and prayers of our entire school community.

We wish them all the very best on their special days!
