The Swan Hill Sunrise Rotary Club is pleased to advise that applications are now open for the Defying the Drift Youth Program for 2026 - a youth program run by Rotary District 9780.
Defying the Drift is a unique agricultural and regional leadership program designed to inspire young people in Years 10 & 11 to explore the wide range of career and lifestyle opportunities available within agriculture and regional industries.
The program encourages students to recognise the value and potential of living and working in regional communities while building leadership, confidence, and industry connections.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Gain firsthand exposure to agricultural and regional industries
- Meet industry leaders, innovators, and young professionals
- Explore career pathways in agriculture, agribusiness, and regional enterprise
- Develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
- Build confidence and connections with students from across the district
Dear Community Partners,
We are pleased to share that Victoria Police will be hosting a Western Region Recruitment Roadshow in Mildura and Swan Hillthis June.
These events are a great opportunity for people across our region including young people, career changers, and those connected to local clubs and community groups to explore a meaningful career in policing.
Attendees will:
- Hear firsthand from local police officers
- Learn what day-to-day policing looks like in regional communities
- Receive practical advice on the recruitment process
- Connect directly with the Victoria Police recruitment team
