2025 Fundraising Wrap Up

As we head off into the summer holiday season I would like to make a big thank you to parents, relatives, carers and friends of Mitcham Primary School for all the support you have given to fundraising for our school. With the current economic climate, we understand that every dollar counts, so the funds we raise are rather precious at this time.

I am very proud to say we have raised $9,771.06 dollars this year over stalls, raffles, discos and tea towels. We haven’t totally confirmed what these funds are to be spent on but previously it has been the beautiful picnic tables on the school grounds and murals on the walls. We are looking at possibly new sport uniforms that are loaned to students as one possible spend, so watch this space!

And as an aside, this is my final official year at Mitcham Primary, as my son is moving to high school. It’s bittersweet as I have enjoyed meeting and working with a lot of you over the past 5 years (in which I have been looking after fundraising efforts). I want to say thank you to everyone who gave whatever time or items they could spare to help raise money every year plus give our children wonderful experiences at the same time. Not every school runs our stalls like we do and hopefully that can continue in some form. I also want to make special mention to Katie Lang and Angela Coulter, who previously looked after the stalls before me, and who held my hand and offered advice as they stepped back. They were often the unseen helpers I knew I could rely on, and I will miss you both. I do have some good hands to give this portfolio to and hopefully the support I have given smooths the way.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday season and once again, thank you.

PS. A special shout out to my paper bag fairies, who dropped bags at the office before every stall. I never asked but you just knew, and that made my day every time.
