Camp

Our Adventures on Middle Primary Camp

This year’s MP camp at Adanac was magnificent! As we arrived at camp, everyone felt excited, adventurous and a wee bit nervous. We had the most spectacular time! Here’s some of the reasons we had so much fun…

Fantastic Flying Fox

As we zoomed through the air we noticed trees, a lake, and lots of our friends. We felt so courageous because some of us were trying something new. The helmet and harness felt a little bit uncomfortable, but it was such an incredible experience dancing as we flew like superman all the way down.

Interesting Initiatives

Initiatives was challenging and exciting. We had to work as a team to save the world from a deadly toxic waste spill. We collaborated to cross a lake full of hungry, devious and dangerous crocodiles. It was great to use teamwork to make the games super awesome.

Marvellous Movie Night

Gangster Granny was a super funny movie that we all enjoyed. We were comfortable with our pillows and Oodies as we watched Gagster Granny and the little boy stealing the crown jewels. It was super dark and late when the movie ended.

Hilarious Hut Building

We worked as a team to try our hardest to build a 'waterproof' hut. Getting drenched by water whilst hiding in that hut was pretty funny. Destroying your hut after completing the challenge was an awesome part of the fun.

Magnificent Marble Run

The challenge was to create a marble run using Lego. The anticipation came when watching the marble zoom through the track to see if the marble would successfully make it to the other side. Basking in the glory of success was our prize.

The Nerve-Wracking Night Walk

The big, sloppy animal poo shining in the light of the full Moon on the trail was a great way to start the walk. There were lots of huge logs and leaves to navigate around in the dark. Mysterious noises made the walk spooky as we tripped on sticks whilst making our way toward the meeting place. It was beautiful to gaze up at the stary night sky and wonder at God’s creation.

Crazy Canoeing

Canoeing was so awesome! Everyone played lots of fun games like Sharks vs Seals and the Pirate Treasure Game. Everyone was splashing around with wet bottoms! Most of camp enjoyed the pirate treasure game where everyone paddled around picking up ping pong balls from the lake.

Looping Low Ropes

The best part was challenging ourselves to work through the difficult stages of the course like the gigantic green ropes forming an ‘X’. We had an intense experience. Even though the course had some extremely tricky paths, we made it!!

Drastic Disc Golf

Disc golf is just like golf, but with Frisbees. Every time you threw a disc you had to ask everyone to get out of the way, so we didn’t hit people in the head. Discs kept on rolling into the lake which was pretty funny to watch. It was interesting to walk all around the whole camp while we played this brilliant game.

Amazing Archery

Archey was such a sensational activity. It felt fantastic to slide on the soft armguard and use the deadly weapon. It was exhilarating to watch the arrow zoom through the air and stick in the circular, hypnotising target. It’s a miracle we all survived!

Crazy Cabins

8pm was time to sleep. There was lots of laughter, happiness, and chatting. We loved supporting our cabin group at night as well as giggling with them. Everyone was considerate and friendly, and we had lots of fun making new friends. In the morning Mrs Campbell woke the girls up with the good morning song. That song will be stuck in our heads forever.

The Fabulous Food

We ate our main meals in the delightful dining room. Morning tea and afternoon tea was served outside on the beautiful verandah with the sun shining stunningly over the camp. Our meals were filling and the most delicious food we have ever had!

We had such an incredible time at camp. We came home exhausted, but also very proud of the creativity we showed and of our growing independence. After camp, we feel like we can do anything!
