Kilvington Community Fair and Open Day

In March, Kilvington came alive for the hugely successful 2025 Kilvington Fair and Open Day — a vibrant celebration filled with energy, laughter and, best of all, a wonderful sense of community spirit.

Our school grounds were buzzing with activity as families enjoyed a fantastic selection of stalls, thrilling rides, and fun-filled activities — all expertly organised by our incredible Parents and Friends Association (PFA).

Our dedicated staff and enthusiastic students also led school tours, proudly showcasing key areas of Kilvington, including Sport, Science, Food Technology, Community Services, Global Connections/Languages, Robotics and Digital Technologies, Performing Arts, and our innovative Year 9 Impact Program.

Guests were treated to beautiful performances from our talented student musicians and the Kilvington Alumni Choir. They also had the chance to see staff bravely take their turn in the Dunk Tank — a definite crowd favourite!

In the lead-up to the Fair, we had parents crafting handmade goods and producing jams and relishes. Others were busy collecting books, puzzles and games, chocolate and wine, and coordinating the many moving parts behind the scenes.

A day like this doesn’t come together without the support, time and effort of so many people. We're truly grateful to have the support and involvement of so many fabulous volunteers.

On the day itself, over 200 amazing volunteers helped with setup, pack down and everything in between. The joy and connection across the School was incredible — with so many happy faces and new friendships formed.

International student reflections:

The Fair was incredibly lively and vibrant, and brought all students, past and present, as well as the community together! I was able to find a variety of games and delicious food stalls with my friends on the day - after I did my school tour!

- Elena Truong, Year 12

I was part of the choir at the school fair, and performing in front of the crowd was such a fun and memorable experience. It felt great to be part of something that brought the whole school community together.

- Catherine Yang, Year 11

The atmosphere was great as there were quite a lot of people that attended, and I especially enjoyed the food that they had at the stalls. I think it was great fun for both our students and those outside of School with all the different activities being held.

- Tiffany Wong, Year 12

The Fair was a lively celebration full of energy and fun, and it was very interesting to see so many interesting shops and activities. I was helping out at the Digital Technologies area on the top level of the HIVE, which was a great experience.
