Principal's Message

There is certainly lots happening at St Mary’s!

This week we had the Newshound visit for an article for our local paper. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to share a little of what makes our school and community so special. Watch this space!

MasterChef Round 2 on Wednesday was another exciting event. A very big thank you to Barb for all the time, encouragement and practice she has given our students in preparation. And an even bigger congratulations to our children, who stepped into chef mode so beautifully. We are incredibly proud of the confidence, teamwork and enthusiasm they showed. Thank you to our families who could join us on Wednesday night at Sacred Heart College. 

What a wonderful Book Week we have had! How amazing were all of our costumes? I know that costumes can be a stressful time for some families and, for others, something they absolutely love—so wherever you sit, thank you for joining in the fun and celebrating our shared love of reading. Our Book Week incursion was fantastic and gave our children another opportunity to see stories and books come alive. Thank you to Blythe for organising such a special experience for us.

I also want to acknowledge the recent combining of some of our classes. I understand that change can bring questions for children and families, and I want to reiterate our commitment to supporting these classrooms. Our children's wellbeing, sense of belonging and learning growth remain our absolute priorities. Our leadership team and staff are continually monitoring, supporting and responding to the needs of these classes to ensure this commitment is seen in action each day.

There is so much happening across our school, but at the centre of it all remains what matters most—our children, their learning, their wellbeing and the joy they bring to our community each day.
