Hello prep families!

This week in LLLL we focused on multisyllabic words and the -ed suffix!

We started the week looking at compound words and practised saying the two ‘parts’ of the word before adding them together - just like addition in maths! 

It's hard to believe we have almost finished Unit 5 - it feels like only yesterday we were starting Unit 1 and meeting all of Milo’s friends pf the alphabet for the first time.

To celebrate our milestone, we will be having a surprise birthday party for Milo Monkey on Thursday the 17th of September (Week 9) 

All students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite Milo Monkey character  - maybe even the character that their name starts with! 

Families are also asked to bring in a plate of food to share, Here is a small list of some fun snack ideas in alphabetical order: 

• Apples
• Banana bread
• Cupcakes
• Donuts/ dumplings 
• Fairy bread/ fruit platter
• Gummy bears/ grapes 
• Hotdogs 

Students will also be making masks of their favourite character to wear on the day if they choose.

We cant wait to celebrate, but make sure you don’t tell Milo!

Reminders:

• Homework and most importantly readers need to be returned on a Friday 

• If you child is sick, please keep them home. This time of year it is very common to be feeling under the weather and we completely understand! Keeping your child home when they are unwell protects the health the other students, teachers and ES.
