Writing
| Our writing lessons directly mirror our reading mentor texts, allowing students to turn their reading discoveries into powerful writing. This term, students will learn to write different types of sentences—including statements, questions, and exclamations—and use capital letters for proper nouns (names of people and places). They will practise expanding simple sentences by adding "who," "what," "where," and "when" details, as well as using connecting words like before, after, if, and when. Inspired by our stories, students will also write their own simple information texts about special places and craft short stories of their own. |
