Attendance Matters

Dear Parents, Carers & Students,

Welcome to the 3rd edition of Attendance Matters. This edition will focus on how to monitor and record your students' absences effectively.

All parents/carers have a Compass login, which should remain private and separate from your child’s login credentials. Students have their own login details, and it’s important they never have access to the parent login. If you’re unsure of your login details, please contact EMC administration at 9788 2600 for assistance.

Guide to Submitting Attendance Notes:

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to enter an attendance note. This information is also available in our 2025 Attendance Matters booklets, which can be viewed on our website at www.emc.vic.edu.au.

If your student is absent or arriving late, an attendance note must be submitted on Compass. For absences due to medical appointments, a medical certificate is required. This can be uploaded to the Compass portal or handed in to Student Services upon returning to school.
