Principal's Desk

Good afternoon OPS families, 

Can you believe that we are already at the end of Week 6, with only three short weeks left of Term 3. I am very pleased to announce that in Term 4 we will have Mrs Renata Palmer joining the OPS staff as our Assistant Principal,  she will be working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mrs Palmer has been a teacher in the Pakenham area for 13 years and is very excited to be joining the OPS team. 

We have had a busy few weeks at OPS. Last week we welcomed many grandparents and special people into our classrooms for an afternoon session. It was wonderful to see the joy in both the children and our visitors when sharing their classrooms and learning. 

The students, staff and families were certainly very excited for our annual Book Week Character Parade, it was great to hear from students and families about the inspiration and creative process that went into designing and making their costumes. It was a fantastic morning all for the OPS community.  Last week concluded with the PFA Disco on Friday night. Firstly, I would like to say a very big thank you to all our OPS PFA families, we are very lucky to have such a dedicated and committed group of parents that work to give our students amazing opportunities. It was wonderful to see all the children (and teachers) having fun and enjoying themselves, a couple of highlights from the disco include the group dances and karaoke. A big thank you to all of our community for helping to make these events so successful for our students. 

Our 2025-2026 Prep Transition - Step Into Prep program will begin early in Term 4. Our 2026 Prep students and families will be invited to attend five transition sessions throughout Term 4, please see below for dates.
