Middle School

Halfway through term 3 already! Students have been working hard in all subject areas. Have a look at what we've been up to!

Reading: In our reading sessions we have continued our work on independent Book Reports. Students are working hard to read their novels and answer comprehension, prediction and analysing questions about their novels. Students are so excited to show their loved ones all the hard work they have been doing at the end of the term. 

Writing: In writing, students have just finished working on writing a narrative. These narratives are apart of the "Everyone's An Author" program where teachers will select students' work and share it with other schools in the community. Students have been tasked with writing a narrative about a Fantastical Journey. I'm excited for parents and family members to read these stories. 

Maths: We have continued working on Shapes, Area and Perimeter. Now that students have a good understanding of how to find Area and Perimeter they have been tasked with designing their dream house. Then finding the area and perimeter of the rooms with and without furniture in the room. 

Humanities: We have begun a new unit covering Civics and Citizenship. More specifically looking at the difference between Rules and Laws. Students will soon work on researching old absurd laws that are still in place today.
