YARNING CIRCLE

BASKET WEAVING
On Tuesday 13th Oct, the Yarning Circle learned how to harvest the various grasses growing on Country here at school. The last time we met, we started learning a simple basket weaving technique with raffia supplies. The basket weaving is a. Ew o ging project, which supplements the Possum Skin Graduation Cloak.
We moved towards harvesting grasses on site, which also helps the maintenance of our grounds and goes a little way to mimic how native animals would graze on these grasses to keep the growth in balance with the rest of the ecosystem.
We bade a bittersweet farewell to Naomi Pether, who has been involved with Yarning Circle since she arrived at KSC in Year 7!
