Remembrance Mural

As a tribute to those who have fought and fallen as well as honouring those who currently serve in our Australian Defence Force, Deb Thompson worked with Marciano from Senman Creations on a mural to enhance our Wall of Remembrance. Deb felt that the wall could benefit from a splash of colour and suggested the addition of painted poppies to the bottom of the wall to compliment the soldier statues and rising sun plaque. The red poppies represent hope and the purple poppies honour the animals that served and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

A big thank you to Deb and Marciano. The wall and our Remembrance Garden will forever be visual reminders of the significance of Anzac Day, Remembrance Day and our nation’s Military history.

Remembrance Day Ceremony - Honouring our Heroes

We will be holding our Remembrance Day Ceremony outside the Resource Centre on Friday, 10 November at 10:30 am, families are welcome to attend. Students from 404 & 405 along with some of our Defence students will be singing, reading poetry and taking part in creating our ‘Wall of Honour’ display to acknowledge our service men and women past and present.

We have many proud families at Greenwith Primary School with military history, a special ANZAC, a past or current serving member; this could be a grandparent, great-grandparent, uncle or aunt. If you would like to have them included in our display, please send a photo to me and if possible provide details of their service to go on our display. The photos will be copied and the original returned to you. Alternatively, you could email me a scanned copy if you do not want to send an original.

This display will acknowledge and represent the memories of those who have sacrificed and contributed to protecting our country in the past, present and future.
