Uniform Policy

Ratified by Governing Council 23 June 2022

As the weather warms up, we would like to remind our families of the school uniform policy:

Greenwith Primary School is proud of the school uniform. The uniform is important.

  • It helps develop the school identity allowing students to gain a sense of being part of the school community
  • It helps identify students when they are out of school on excursion
  • School uniform means that there is no competition between students
  • The uniform looks neat and tidy
  • Ensures the health and safety of students

The school uniform approved by the Governing Council is:

Shoes

Students should wear appropriate shoes for physical activity and to allow students to actively and safely participate in all aspects of school. Platform shoes and thongs are not acceptable.

Year 6 students

The Year 6 polo shirt has the names of all the Year 6 students and teachers. This design is decided each year by students.

Hats

All students are to wear approved hats in terms 1, 3 and 4. The hats must be broad-brimmed, bucket or legionnaires with no cords or toggles. Students who do not have hats will be asked to play under the allocated shade areas.  The wearing of an approved hat in Term 2 is optional during any time of the day. Beanies can be worn all year, however, a hat will need to be worn over the top in terms 1, 3 and 4, during playtimes. It is expected that hats and beanies are not worn inside.

Sports carnivals

Students are expected to wear the sports uniform supplied by the school at all interschool sports carnivals. Students are expected to wear a hat in terms 1, 3 and 4.
