BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

Safety around the school, kick off area and AGP compensation update:

In late May, representation from the School Council, the parent community and Ms Arnold met with local MP Hon. Nina Taylor and SE Regional Director from the Dept of Education, Ian Burrage, to discuss some outstanding issues the school faces regarding the boom gate on Albert Drive South, the permanent realignment of Aughtie Drive and the possibility of a crossing guard for the Aughtie Drive pedestrian crossing behind the school. We also discussed how they could help facilitate discussions with Parks Victoria regarding a playable surface for the kick off area and we followed up the proposal requirements for the school to make a compensation claim regarding the annual AGP impacts. We hope to provide an update of any progress regarding these matters by July.

If you do have any concerns regarding any of these or other issues, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms Arnold, members of the School Council or your class rep.

Colourful working bee – Friday 27 June:

This is a call out for parents/carers who are available to help with preparing and painting the steps near the Prep/Grade 1 terrace. We are looking at painting the steps on Friday, June 27th. No artistic skills required, but if you enjoy prepping and painting and you’d like to help beautify the school your help is warmly welcomed.

Air conditioning:

I’m really pleased to advise the school council has approved the start of the procurement process for air conditioning and it approved the allocation of the 2024 fundraising total of $45,782 to go towards the purchase and installation of air conditioning, once the procurement process is complete.

Annual General Meeting – save the date:
