A huge congratulations to Gael, who recently represented Victoria at the 2025 National Sport Climbing Youth Championships, held in Ballina, NSW from May 15–18.
Gael qualified to compete in both Lead Climbing (rope) and Bouldering in his age category – an impressive achievement in itself! Over the four-day event, he gave it his all against the best young climbers from across the country.
In Lead Climbing, Gael placed 22nd, after a small mistake early in his first qualifier route. While he was a little disappointed with that result, he bounced back with an outstanding performance in Bouldering, finishing 8th overall in Australia.
Well done, Gael! We’re proud of your hard work, dedication, and achievement on the national stage.
We are excited to announce that our annual House Athletics Day will be held on Thursday 7th August at the incredible Lakeside Stadium!
This is always a highlight on our school calendar, and we look forward to seeing all students from Prep to Grade 6 showcasing their energy, enthusiasm and team spirit across a range of events.
To make this event a success, we are seeking a large number of parent volunteers to help with running events, timing and recording results. If you're available and keen to support on the day, please get in touch with Amanda McConaghy.
More information will be sent out via Compass before the end of term.
We can’t wait to see the students giving it their all on the track!
Unfortunately, the Southport District has made the decision to cancel the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 Basketball Gala Days next semester. This decision was due to challenges with court costs.
However, a Gala Day will still go ahead at Fawkner Park and Murphy Reserve next Semester. Further information regarding these events will be shared as the final details get confirmed.
Last week our Hockey, Netball and Soccer teams competed against various schools in our district. All our teams showed resilience and determination that helped them improve with every match they played. In true SMPPS style they played with a great attitude displaying our school values.
