Jersey Update
Students who receive a jersey for any upcoming trial, gala day or interschool sport will be recorded as proof of this borrowing method. This will allow our school to continue to use these jerseys and have enough for all students to wear and represent our school proudly at the many sporting events we provide to all students. Once jerseys are washed and returned to the school office, our staff will mark that the jersey have been returned. Any jerseys not returned will incur replacement fee.
Please check the wardrobes at home and return any jerseys of any style (singlet, soccer jersey or footy jersey) which belongs to the school. Thank you for the cooperation with this matter.
Interschool Sport
Please ensure you provide permission for your child to attend their next interschool sporting opportunity event. There have been many rescheduled dates due to the wet weather. Below is an outline of all interschool sport across all grades for 2026.
Trials have now been completed for all Interschool Stage 3 teams. Below was the document with all information on the trial structure for 2026.
A big congratulations to our Year 6 students who participated at their league tag gala day on Wednesday. Our level 1 boys team were successful in making it to interconference. This will be held on Tuesday the 1st of September. More information to come.
Representative Trials
On Tue 4th August we had many of our talented athletes compete at the Conference 3 Athletics Trials. Congratulations to all students for representing our school proudly. They demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, determination and resilience while competing across the track and field. We are thrilled to announce that Abigail D, Jordan G, Darcy H, Zara L, Noah O and Kyler R have progressed to the Sydney Athletics Championships on Friday 28th August. Well done to everyone involved in this event and we wish our advancing students the very best of luck in the level of representation. Below are some highlights from the day:
Abigail D - 3rd 11 years high Jump
Jordan G - 2nd 11 years 100m
Darcy H - 3rd 11 years 100m and 200m
Zara L - 2nd 10 years 100m and 4th junior 200m
Noah O - 3rd 12 years high jump, 6th 1500m
Kyler R - 4th junior discus, 3rd junior high jump, 1st long jump
Rocco VW - 6th junior 200m
The current Representative Pathway Sports is coming to end with only Athletics still currently in the pathways. Therefore, preparations are being made for the upcoming representative sport calendar season which will run from Term 4 2026 to Term 3 2027. Please see the attached note which contains all details for our current Year 4 and 5 students who represent at a high level outside of school in their sport. Please note that expressions of interest for representative sport will close on Friday 11th September.
Sutherland Basketball Gala Day
Our Stage 3 girls showed incredible determination and team spirit at the recent gala despite the result not in their favour. The girls were challenged but they never gave up while supporting one another. Their positive attitude, effort and sportsmanship shone throughout the day. Check out the below photos. Our Stage 2 girls are up next on Monday 17th August. We hope our nominated stage 2 students have a great time at this event.
Optional Sutherland Hockey Gala Day Years 6 only
Our school has been invited to the Sutherland Hockey Club Gala Day on Tuesday 22nd September at Tradies Hockey Park (73 Sylvania Rd, Miranda) from approximately 8:30am-3:00pm. This year it will only be offered to Year 6 students due to swimming intensives for Years 2-5. Parents are required to transport their child to and from the grounds for this particular gala day.
Our school can only send limited teams based on equipment availability. At present this is an expression of interest and we will plan for this gala day based on numbers.
This gala day has been set up for beginner or experienced players. Therefore, if your child plays hockey or shows interest in the sport, this will be a great opportunity for them to be involved. Mouthguards and shin pads are compulsory in which all players will need to purchase. We have also been kindly supplied with a limited number of sticks and goalkeeping equipment.
Senior Mixed Team (Year 5 and 6)
If your child is interested in attending this gala day, please fill in the following Expression of Interest. This form will close on Friday 28th August. After registrations close, families will be notified of the outcome for this gala day.
Swimming Carnival
The Annual School Swimming Carnival for Years 3-6 will be held on Thursday 5th November 2026 at Engadine Swimming Pool. The carnival is a fun, school event but also acts as a trial for the Conference 3 Swimming event which will be held on Monday 8th February 2027. In the past all of Year 2 attended the swimming carnival but for 2026 only advanced Year 2 swimmers are invited. You can now also provide consent via COMPASS.
This year we have placed the Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students ‘’splash’’ water activities day on a separate day to the 3-6 swimming carnival to avoid any parent spectators racing between the two events. The information for this day will be shared in due course.
