100 days of school for our Prep students
On Friday our Prep students will celebrate a very special mile-stone - 100 days of school!
It has been wonderful to see how much they have grown in confidence, independence, and learning since their very first day. To mark this occasion the whole school will celebrate with them by wearing bright colours. 🌈💛Lots of photos in the next edition of our newsletter (Bittern Buzz!)
Capital Works Project
Refer to Cover Page for image of the landscaping and design.
It is with great excitement that I inform our school community that our welcome court project will commence over the September school holidays.
This late works project is the final stage of our capital works project and includes the installation of a welcome court at the front of the school. New pathways will be created, seating, lighting, flagpoles and landscaping make up this project. The 2 trees at the end of our pathway will be removed as they are posing a safety risk to our footpaths. Additional trees will be planted in this area to replace those that were removed. It is great news and a wonderful addition to our school grounds. There may be some disruption to the entry and exit processes early in Term 4, however they are anticipating that this project will only take 3 -4 weeks which includes the school holidays. We will keep you updated.
School Policies
At our school, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive. One of the key ways we achieve this is through the implementation of clear and consistent school policies.
Our school policies cover a wide range of areas, including student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, child safety, digital technology, health and safety, and communication between home and school. These policies are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain current, effective and aligned with educational standards and legal requirements. These policies can be found on our school website. Our newsletters are a great way to bring specific policies to your attention. Please see below for the link to our recently updated anaphylaxis and asthma policies.
Upcoming Swimming program (week 7)
Our school swimming program commences in a few weeks time. The event has been sent out to parents, please check your Compass app, if you have not signed up.
Why School Swimming Matters
Swimming is an important part of every child's education. Swimming is a valuable life skill that helps children stay safe in and around water while building confidence, resilience and physical fitness. We encourage all students to participate in the swimming program and attend every lesson where possible. Thank you for your support in helping your child make the most of this valuable learning opportunity.
Book Week
Book Week at Bittern PS will be in Week 6 commencing on August 17th - 21st. We have some great activities planned for the week and our annual Book Week dress up day and parade is scheduled for Friday 21st August.
Come dressed in your best book week costume on Friday 21st. We will host our usual book week parade from 9 - 9.30am on this day.
# Please note that our school is celebrating book week a week earlier than other schools, due to our swimming program in week 7.
We have a busy term ahead with lots of learning and extra curricular activities.
