Senior Secondary (VPC/ASDAN)
In Term 3, students have been developing important skills to prepare for the World of Work. They have been learning how to complete job applications and developing their job interview skills.
As part of this process, students have created a resume and cover letter and identified the skills, experience and qualifications they can bring to their chosen job.
Pictured are staff from Brimbank Learning Futures, who visited to provide students with valuable information, advice and tips in preparation for their upcoming mock interviews.
The ASDAN classes have had a great couple of weeks! Students have been working hard towards completing their ASDAN outcomes, with a focus on preparing a cold snack.
Students have been learning the steps involved in preparing food, including getting themselves ready for cooking, preparing the kitchen, collecting the equipment they need and making a cold snack such as fruit salad, sandwiches or pita bread. It has been great to see students developing confidence and independence.
During our community access and travel training days, students have also been learning ‘What to do if I have a problem’. We have talked about who we can ask for help in different situations, such as getting lost at Preston Market, having a problem at the train station or needing assistance in the workplace. Well done ASDAN!
