Foundation (Prep)
Foundation (Year 1-Year 2)
In 1/2C this week, we have had lots of fun learning to write letters in preparation for our Community Walk. We have been using the Handwriting without Tears program to focus writing on letter formation.
In Multiplicative thinking we created spotty insects and made groups up to three. We had fun with object substitution in the Play Program. We have had a fantastic Term 3!
Lower Primary (Years 3-4)
Late Night/Sleepover
On Friday 21st of August our Lower Primary students took part in the annual Late Night/Sleepover event. Students spent the evening at school painting their own squishies, making photo frames, cookie decorating, playing and dancing in our disco. We finished the night with a pizza feast and some students moving into the hall to sleep over. It was such a fun evening of making memories and trying new things. We are so proud of our students for their participation.
Science Incursion
On Wednesday 26th of August we had a Kitchen Science incursion. We had a special scientist visit us at school and help us to make mini volcanoes, sherbet and magic milk. We learnt that mixing bicarb soda and vinegar makes a fast volcano and adding dishwashing soap to the mixture makes a slow volcano.
Inquiry
This term for Inquiry we have been focusing on the properties of materials, mixing materials and ingredients and making with materials and ingredients. Our classes have made slime, jelly, cupcakes, sand volcanoes, wind chimes, origami and much more! We have also been changing materials by scrunching, ripping, cutting, folding, mixing and gluing.
