Welcome back to Term 3

We have another exciting term ahead, filled with many opportunities for our students, staff and families to grow in faith, celebrate our Catholic tradition and put the Gospel into action.

One of our major focuses this term will be the Season of Creation, celebrated throughout September. This year's theme, "Living Waters," invites us to reflect on God's gift of creation and our responsibility to care for our common home. As part of this important celebration, our Year 6 Michno Leadership students will be leading a range of fun, interactive and educational courtyard stalls during Week 9. These activities will encourage our school community to explore practical ways we can care for God's creation while living out Pope Francis' call to be faithful stewards of the Earth.

Next week also marks a significant occasion for the Diocese of Sandhurst.  Mr Brian and I will have the privilege of representing St Brendan's School at the Installation Mass of Bishop René Ramirez, who will become the Ninth Bishop of the Diocese of Sandhurst. We ask that you keep Bishop René in your prayers as he begins his ministry, leading our diocesan community with faith, wisdom and compassion.

During Week 4, we will celebrate the Feast of Saint Mary MacKillop (8th August), Australia's first saint. Saint Mary MacKillop's unwavering trust in God and her commitment to providing education for children, particularly those in rural and disadvantaged communities, continues to inspire Catholic schools across Australia. Her words, "Never see a need without doing something about it," remind us all to live lives of service, courage and hope.

Throughout the term, we also continue to keep our Sacramental students and their families in our prayers as they journey towards receiving the Sacraments of Initiation. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and strengthen them as they prepare to receive these special gifts of God's grace, supported by their families, teachers and parish community.

There are many other wonderful Catholic Identity events planned throughout the term, including assembly prayers, school Masses, Sacramental celebrations, the Socktober Launch at Notre Dame College, Youth Mass, and opportunities for both student and staff faith formation.

Please take a moment to view the Term 3 Catholic Identity Calendar below and note the important dates.

We look forward to a wonderful term of learning, prayer, service and celebration as we continue to grow together in faith and live out our school motto, "With Faith and Courage," while seeking to be the living presence of Christ in our community.
