A message from our Principal
Dear St. Brendan's School Community,
Welcome back to Term 3.
I hope all of our students, families and staff enjoyed a restful break and are feeling refreshed for another exciting term of learning, growth and community connection.
During the holidays, our staff had the opportunity to participate in a special Walking on Country experience organised by our Aboriginal Education Officer, Kasi Kelly. The day began at school in our newly completed Aboriginal Garden, a space inspired by The Flats and designed to strengthen our connection to Country and culture. We then travelled to the Rumbalara Cultural Centre in Mooroopna, where Aunty Cheryl shared the history of Rumbalara and The Flats before leading us on a walking tour. It was a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding of Yorta Yorta history and learn more about the important work Rumbalara undertakes to support Aboriginal health, wellbeing and community connection.
I am also delighted to share that our Aboriginal Garden was completed during the school holidays. If you have had the opportunity to see it at drop-off or pick-up, I am sure you will agree that it looks fantastic. The new space has transformed this area of our school and provides a welcoming environment for learning, reflection and gathering. We look forward to removing the temporary fencing soon and making greater use of the space throughout the year. An official opening and blessing of the garden will be held later this year, and we look forward to sharing this special occasion with our community.
This term, we also farewell Ms Beth Seccull, who commenced maternity leave at the end of Week 1. We extend our very best wishes to Beth and Xavier as they prepare to welcome a new addition to their family. This is a wonderful and exciting time, and we know our community joins us in wishing them every happiness.
At the same time, we warmly welcome Gabby Cook to our school community as our new Foundation teacher. Gabby has settled in wonderfully and is already building positive relationships with students and staff. She is looking forward to meeting Foundation families during the upcoming interviews and becoming an active part of our school community.
Parent Teacher Learning Conversations
Bookings for Parent Teacher Learning Conversations are now open.
These conversations provide an opportunity to discuss your child's progress, celebrate their achievements, and explore how we can continue working together to support their learning and growth.
Appointments can be conducted face-to-face or over the phone. Please indicate your preferred option when making your booking.
Information regarding bookings will be provided shortly. If you require assistance, please make contact with the school office once school returns.
Pupil Free Day – Wednesday, 5th August
Please note that Wednesday, 5th August is a Pupil Free Day. Staff will be participating in professional learning as part of the CESL Staff Spatiality Day.
Families requiring care on the Pupil Free Day may access our Out of School Hours Care provider, Uniting Care. Limited places are available.

SchoolCare Clinics – Term 3
Appointments are now available for SchoolCare Clinics during Term 3.
SchoolCare Clinics is a community-focused GP service that provides bulk-billed healthcare for students across the Greater Shepparton area. Child-focused doctors work with students from Prep to Year 12, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.
If you would like to make an appointment, please contact me via email at principal@sbshepparton.catholic.edu.au and I will provide you with an appointment time. Please note that places are limited.
Services available through SchoolCare Clinics include: Free flu vaccinations for students, Asthma Action Plans, Referrals for ADHD assessments, Allergy Management Plans and Mental Health Care Plans
