News from the Music Department (Week 8)

It’s been a vibrant and productive term for our music students, with the pace really picking up as we head toward the end of the year.

Our annual Spring Soirée was a tremendous success, giving students the chance to share their hard work with parents, carers, friends and family. It was truly inspiring to see a year’s worth of dedication come together in such a polished and heartfelt performance.

Our Year 12 students are also in fine form as they prepare their final repertoire for Valedictory, and their programs are sounding absolutely outstanding.

Last week, our Voice and Concert Band students delivered magical performances during the pre-orientation days, delighting our incoming Year 7 students with beautiful music and receiving rapturous applause.

Every lunchtime, our rehearsal rooms are buzzing—filled with rock bands and ensembles honing their craft and preparing for future performances.

We have several exciting events ahead:

Monday 8 December: CheltVoices will perform at Southland for the annual Christmas Carols—always a joyful event with wonderful community support.
Tuesday 9 December: Avenues Band will perform for our full Year 7 Orientation Day, showcasing the incredible talent within our Cheltenham Secondary College music program.
Thursday 11th December - Presentation Night: Featuring CheltVoices, Avenues Band, Stage Band and Concert Band, this evening will be a fitting celebration of a remarkable year of music making.

We are immensely proud of every one of our students. Their grace, hard work, excellent communication, and exemplary behaviour make our department a joy to lead.

We look forward to these upcoming performances and hope many in our community can join us to celebrate the talent, dedication, and passion of our music students.
