你 好 (ni hao)

This Week

On Wednesday, the Leadership Centre presented their public speaking speeches. They have worked incredibly hard throughout the unit and demonstrated both Love of Learning and Curiosity along the way. All of their hard work certainly paid off, with the students delivering fantastic speeches and showing great confidence in their presentations. We are so proud of their efforts!

We have now begun our Term 4 text study, The Blue Cat, a historical fiction text about a young girl named Columba from Sydney who is trying to make sense of the world around her during World War II. Students have already shown lots of curiosity and enthusiasm as they explore the historical background and context of our text.

During Guided Inquiry, the Leadership Centre have been exploring inclusive design and learning about how the design process begins with understanding the needs of the individual. Students have been considering how we can adapt and design everyday objects and spaces to make our environments more inclusive and accessible for everyone.

In Maths, the Leadership Centre have begun exploring fractions. Students have been learning to recognise proper, improper and mixed fractions, convert between different forms using bar and length models, and order fractions from smallest to largest on a number line.

The Independent Centre have been having an incredible time at Camp ADANAC, participating in a range of exciting activities including archery, flying fox, hut building, rock climbing and so much more! They have been embracing every challenge, stepping outside their comfort zones and creating lots of wonderful memories along the way.

The 3/4s have also made the most of their time at camp, waking up early to watch the sunrise and beginning their day by taking a moment to appreciate and connect with the beautiful environment around them. During their night walks, students also had the opportunity to explore and learn about the nocturnal creatures that come alive after dark. What an amazing experience!

Attention Year 6 Families - Baby Photos for Graduation

We are looking forward to celebrating Year 6 graduation at the end of the year, with preparations already underway!

One of our beloved traditions is sharing three baby photos from between the ages of 0-5 as part of the presentation. We are asking if you could please email to us with these three photos in an attachment by November 30th. We are aware that there have been some issues with this email - gradesixgraduation@gmail.com. So we would kindly recommend that you send the photos to your child's classroom teacher instead through Compass.

We usually recommend one baby photo, one toddler and one around kinder age, but any family favourites will be great!

Also, if your child attended another school prior to MPRPS and you have their school photos, it would also be much appreciated if you could send those through.

We will send reminder messages over the coming weeks, but we like to get an early start as it takes a while to collate everything! Thank you so much for your support!
